Wild Oak Workshops

Wild Oak Workshops were created to bring people together to explore creativity with a shared joy for nature. Led by Katie, who started the business in March 2019, Wild Oak Workshops are taught from the heart, to relax and inspire.

Katie’s own love of nature is reflected in her beautiful wreaths, tablescapes and decorative pieces. She forages and harvests in the woods and hedgerows local to her farmhouse home, before bringing nature’s treasure together to create a celebration of each season. Her workshops are run from either her own Oak clad garden cabin or in a whole host of historic and interesting venues, including Ely Cathedral, Little Massingham Manor and Watatunga Reserve.

Her experiences are immersive, fun and immensely therapeutic. Katie derives great satisfaction from seeing her clients watch their natural creations evolve before their eyes. Bringing people of similar interests together, often sparks new friendships creating a community of knowledge and experience.

Natures heals us all, with mindfulness a topic often discussed in the news as we seek refuge from our modern busy lives. Katie looks to open people’s eyes to the wonders of their natural surroundings and impart a newfound love of mother nature and the healing that she can provide the body and soul.

Her workshops at Foras After Dark will utilise the Autumnal ingredients of Oak, Bracken, Silver Birch and Sweet Chestnut, woven intricately into a Willow base. The aim is to produce a wreath which can be turned into a table piece of bounty with the addition of leaves, Conkers and Acorns. Finally, a candle can be placed in the middle, to illuminate the natural work of art, a selection of Foras’ supremely scented candles will be available to purchase to add to each arrangement.

Please book your experience with Wild Oak Workshops below. Once you have booked your place we will email your tickets, and Katie will be in touch directly to take payment. All materials needed to create your table decoration will be supplied (candles can be purchased separately).

There are 4 dates to choose from on our After Dark Fridays, the 11th and 18th of October and the 1st and 8th of November. Each workshop is limited to 5 places, costs £40.00 per person and lasts for 30 minutes, starting at 6.30pm. Join in with us, learn a new skill and make something beautiful.
